Counting day by day, we are getting closer and closer to the release date of the new season of Sherlock Holmes, January 1, 2017. Sherlock Holmes is the most viewed TV show in BBC1’s history, having a colossal 11.6 million viewers.
The TV series is based on the book written by a British author, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The book and the film itself are based on the character Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes is a private detective that makes accurate observations and conclusions about everything he sees or encounters. He basically lives for crime scenes. Not that he commits them, but he loves solving them using his one-of-a-kind, peculiar mind.
Returning to the series are actors Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr John Watson. Audiences loved their chemistry, and are thrilled to see them return together to the small screen.
The previous season of Sherlock Holmes had a bitter ending, ending with an extreme twist. Fans from all over the world have been waiting patiently and are thirsty for explanations to the questions that they had throughout the course of the past seasons.
Some questions, in particular, were discussed and referenced. These questions were mainly about Jim Moriarty's whereabouts and how he managed to survive. Some say he is a ghost, and some say he was disguised.
Other questions involved Molly Hooper, a specialist registrar who supports Sherlock whilst he is solving crime cases by examining bodies, extracting blood, and etc. Audiences wonder if there are any progress in Sherlock and Molly’s love relationship.
As the excitement goes on, will the new series of Sherlock Holmes appease their fans?
11.6 million are waiting for you and they’ll say, “I believe in Sherlock Holmes.”
