Last week (June 20th - 24th) was Final Exam Week at BIS Canada. The long and monstrous exam week was finally over and many students from Grade 10 and 11 have mentioned that the final exams week was tough since there were so much content to fully memorize. Some also have mentioned that they felt much more pressured by the exams since these exams will take over an important part in their future university application. Compared to Grade 10s and 11s, it is true that Grade 12 year students had far less pressure as they have already been accepted to different universities. One of them said, “This was my last exam in high school. I felt comfortable during the exam. I am very excited to finally graduate.” Thank you all for your hard work, and have a great summer!
BIS International Day
For the very first time in BIS history, elementary students through grade 1 to 6 had an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of culture on June 24th, which is known as International Day. On the day, each grade chose to represent different countries by dressing up in their authentic and traditional costumes. They also learned about cultural table manners and greetings. Although there might have been small challenges in holding this event for the very first time, BIS Canada’s first International Day was a success which brought every student together to learn and celebrate the cultural diversity in a school setting.
